Neil Young Readies New Album, Box Set

Rolling Stone magazine reports Neil Young is putting the finishing touches on his new album which is currently called Twisted Road.  Young recorded the album with producer Daniel Lanois during the peak of full moon cycles, which is how he traditionally records his albums.  Lanois says the album has "a couple of solo acoustic songs, but the rest is very electric."  Young is currently touring throughout North America and is previewing eight of the new songs at shows.  No release date for the album has been set yet.

Young is also preparing to release the second volume of his Archives box set.  It will include three unreleased albums -- 1975's Homegrown, 1977's Chrome Dreams and 1978's Oceanside-Countryside -- as well as live performances from Young's 1976 tour with Crazy Horse.  There's no word as to when the box set will be released, but the three albums will be released on vinyl first.
